TurnPages EC for Webshop with e-commerce catalogs or sale flyers from PDF
With the different TurnPages E-Commerce solutions, customers can buy products from your digital sale flyer or catalog using your webshop.
The Light solution provides simple links between the digital sale flyer or catalog and the webshop. If a customer clicks on an article inside a sale flyer or catalog, the corresponding webshop page will open in a new browser tab.
The customer can then, on this page, find more information about this product. Via the 'order' button, the customer can put a product in the cart. To proceed shopping the customer can close the tab or use the backbutton.
In the Medium solution, the customers can view additional information about a product in the digital sale flyer or catalog itself. If the customer clicks a product, a Product Overlay will appear within the same page.
In this product overlay, the visitor can, for example, read the description of a product, view more pictures, click on Cross-Sell en Deep-Sell products, check the available sizes and colour, and see any other product specifications.
By clicking on a shop button, the corresponding webshop page will open in a new browser tab.
If you opt for the Full solution, your customers can place a product into the shopping cart straight from the sale flyer or catalog. They do not open a product page on the webshop first.
The Product Overlay in this solution is more extensive than the overlay for the medium solution. It contains the option, for example, to select the size and colour of clothes, after which the product can be placed right into the cart.
The product overlay can also incorporate the option to save a product as favorite, or to add it to a wish list in the webshop.
Full Service, Do it yourself or combination
TurnPages offers flexible E-Commerce services. You could, for example, outsource the complete production of your E-commerce sale flyer or catalog to us.
In that case, we receive your PDF from your DTP department. If the PDF already contains the hotspots with the correct product numbers and/or links, we can read those out automatically. Otherwise, you can send along a list with product numbers and/or links that belong to the products in your sale flyer or catalog.
We then make sure that your digital sale flyer or catalog will be put online on the agreed date and time. It is possible to include the option that you first receive list of links that do not work in the webshop (yet). Any corrections or improvements you send to us, we will process as soon as possible.
If you prefer to do everything yourself, our Do It Yourself model might be perfect for you. This model is possible for all E-Commerce solutions we offer. In that case, we configure your own TurnPages DS environment, including your own Design Templates and the integration with your webshop back-end.
Employees from your organisation can then upload the PDF containing your sale flyer or catalog. If the uploaded PDF already contains the hotspots with the correct product numbers and/or links, these will be automatically read out by your TurnPages DS environment.
Otherwise, you can use the user friendly hotspot editor in the TurnPages DS environment to add hotspot links to your sale flyer or catalog yourself. This is done by drawing rectangles on pages and adding product numbers and/or links to these rectangles.
After that, you can publish your publication online, or you can set up a specific time and date on which the publication will be pushed to live automatically. For example, you can have the TurnPages DS environment put your weekly digital sale flyer live every Sunday morning at 6 am.
We also offer the possibility to let us do part of the work using Full Service, and do the other part of the work yourself in the DS environment. For example, you could let us do the conversion from PDF to online publication, and then add and (later) edit the hotspots yourself using the hotspot editor.

Statistics, optimization and A-B testing
For optimizing E-Commerce solutions, the more you know, the better. TurnPages' E-Commerce technology includes the option to track your customers' micro-interactions. This lets you know exactly:
- Which pages were viewed
- How long individual pages were viewed
- On which products your customers clicked
- For which products, your customers continued to the webshop and put the products into their cart
- Which Cross-Sell and Deep-Sell products were viewed
- Which Cross-Sell and Deep-Sell products the customers opened in the webshop and added to their cart
In consultation with us, it is possible to add extra or specific measurements to your digital sale flyers or catalogs.
All these data points can also be saved in your own analytics environment. By doing so, the data can be incorporated into your own analyses and reports workflows more easily.
TurnPages has standard integration solutions for Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics. This integration also includes correctly dealing with GDPR rules and Cookie settings.
It is possible to do an A-B test with your digital sale flyer. In that case, two versions of a digital sale flyer will be published online. The difference between the two folders could be:
- Offering different products
- Having different product placement and designs
- Targeting different audiences
Half of your customers will be automatically shown the A-version of the digital sale flyer, and the other half will be shown the B-version. Afterwards, the data can be analysed, and checked for any significant differences between the two versions.
The costs of a TurnPages EC solution depends on (1) how the publication interfaces to your webshop, (2) the needed Design Templates, (3) the number of publications per year, (4) how many hotspots there are, and how they need to be added, (5) the duration and manner of hosting and (6) any other particularities or wishes.
